Good afternoon everyone! 🤗
Continuing the travel narrative from my ultimate 2-week tour visiting places in EU, this post is going to tell you a little bit more about the city of the Danes, Viking village itself, (drumroll!) Copenhagen! It is definitely a one of a kind place with so many amazing touristy things packed delicately within the cobblestoned streets of the city.
It was refreshing to be in this city after a well-deserved break back home after finishing up graduate school and was nice to spend time with my family and relax. Apart from the Instagram-rich cityscapes, there is a lot to do in this city. I stayed at a lovely apartment which we found listed on Airbnb. The place was really cozy and had a Tumblr feel to it. Another great advantage was that it was located in the heart of the city. 🙂
While I was there, I wasted no time gearing up for the girl-on-a-mission mode and dressed as comfortably as possible. I was looking for a way to spruce up my black lace dress and these colored tights seemed like a charming option. It's not only an uplifting addition but instantly pleasing to the eye too. I threw on a pair of zebra print TOMS for brownie points on the quirk scale. And this Burberry inspired Zara trench coat has officially earned to be on my “Best buys” list. Do I need to say anything more about it? 😁
The city has a beautiful unique contemporary architecture which gives it a classic medieval feel. One place on my destination guide was Nyhavn which is a waterfront, canal and entertainment district in Copenhagen. It’s a very vibrant place filled with people all over. The colorful facades along the waterfront definitely deserve at least one panorama attempt!
Sometimes, I feel, it's easy to get engaged in taking pictures and miss out on other interesting things happening around you. Interestingly enough, my high point of the day arrived when I witnessed a photo shoot for Elle Magazine! The model was wearing a gorgeous white and blue gown and I am still trying to figure out the designer on that gown! Guess I will have to wait for the next issue of Elle! Haha!
Mesmerized by the beauty of this place I soon realized that it was time for lunch. Tried out the classic pizza with a colorful combination of artichoke hearts, capers, and black olives along with a cup of cappuccino at Mama Rosa. After exploring a bit more in the afternoon, I went on a shopping spree on market street. Of all the places that I have visited, people here certainly seemed very friendly and very well dressed! Concluded this epic day with Hell of a Nerve and a light Avocado toast dinner at Joe and the Juice!
Just wanted to add that two years back I got an admit from the University of Copenhagen, but instead I chose to go to the U.S for my masters! And I am really grateful that I finally got a chance to visit the happiest place on Earth! 😌
